A Hologram For The King — Int'l Trailer
"You must lose yourself to find yourself." It's a nice sentiment that certainly applies to Tom Hanks and his life-altering journey through the Arabian desert, as shown in the new international trailer for "A Hologram For The King."
Hanks, reteaming with his "Cloud Atlas" co-director Tom Tykwer, plays a down-and-out traveling salesman who has flown halfway around the world to close a major business deal with the King of Saudi Arabia. But when he learns that the king couldn't care less about his "holographic system" and hasn't even shown up in his country for months, Hanks, with his job now on the line, does what any normal stressed-out salesman would do: he suffers an anxiety attack and blacks out for a couple of hours. Luckily, he meets a lovely Middle Eastern doctor (played by "Homeland" actress Sarita Choudhury) who, in essence, gives him a reason to rethink his life.
Written for the screen by Tykwer, "A Hologram For The King" is based on author Dave Eggers' best-selling novel of the same name. The film will premiere next month at the Tribeca Film Festival before opening in theaters on April 22.
