Last Days in the Desert — Trailer

Ewan McGregor takes an arduous spiritual journey through a sun-scorched landscape in the trailer for the biblical drama "Last Days in the Desert," which also stars Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones), Ayelet Zurer (Marvel's Daredevil), and Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Apocalypse).

Written and directed by filmmaker and TV helmer Rodrigo Garcia (Albert Nobbs, HBO's In Treatment), the film is an artistic interpretation of a particular period in the life of Jesus, during which he fasted for forty days in the Judean desert. McGregor plays both Jesus and the Devil in an imagined confrontation, in which the wandering holy man has his faith tested by a devilish doppelganger.

Three-time Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (The Revenant, Birdman, Gravity) provides the striking visuals for the film, which had earned mostly positive reviews during its festival run last year. It's currently scheduled to be released on May 13th.
